A recent issue of FORTUNE magazine has a column entitled "the great things about America." This is the second consecutive year, this idea was launched 100 products retailer in the United States that should be celebrated (This year, Detroit was No. 14).There were 100 items on the list last year but none are repeated for the final list. It shows that we have a multitude of things to be thankful for our country. Some of the items on the list in 2011 include: the network of highways, Navy Seals, Ben & Jerry Ice Cream, self stick stamps, GPS, Oscar Mayer hot dogs, NASCAR, Seinfeld, Diet Coke, the Grand Canyon , Coppertone Sunblock, Starbucks and Subway. You can agree or disagree with the list, but it certainly suggests some points of discussion.
After reading the entire list, it occurred to me that we here in Michigan also have "great things" to be proud of.A partial list compiled by me - a Michigander biased.
